WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE (4D/3N)

 

This short-break is perfect for adventurous wildlife lovers. Spend the night in a cottage deep within the forest, in the bear country. Your guide can teach you how to track wildlife, how to navigate using a map and compass, and how to survive in the forest. You can also learn how to shoot a bow or rifle if you wish. With luck, you may even get to see a bear!

  • Trip Duration: 4 days / 3 nights

  • Accommodation: two nights at a tourist farm in Pozar in comfortable twin rooms, and one night in a cottage in the forest; the forest cabin only has shared rooms and no running water or phone signal; it is heated and comfortable, but basic; you'll need your sleeping bag

  • Riding: 3 days of riding; 2 full days (5 - 7 hours) and one half day (2 - 3 hours)

Trip Itinerary – Wildlife Experience in Slovenia


DAY 1:

Arrival & Forest Adventure


Arrive at Sembije, where you will be introduced to your horse for the journey ahead. Saddle up and head straight into the peaks of Milonja, an untouched wilderness that is home to bears. As you ride through dense forests, your guide will point out any wildlife you encounter. Reach a charming forest cottage where you'll enjoy a delicious dinner around a campfire under the stars. For the truly adventurous, sleeping under the stars in a tent is an option.

DAY 2:

Tracking Wildlife & Exploring Bear Country


After a hearty breakfast, you will ride through the forest once more, continuing your search for wildlife. Feel the thrill of long canters along picturesque forest paths as you look out for bears, wild boar, and other native animals. Break for lunch at Gostisce Masun, nestled in the heart of bear country. Afterward, return to the forest cottage for a short rest before descending into the valley to return your horses. You'll then be transferred to Bac for a well-deserved rest and a shower at your accommodation.

DAY 3:

Wild Pig Search & Forest Ride


This morning, rejoin your horses for a ride back into the forest in search of wild boar. Some areas of the trail will require you to dismount and lead your horse on foot for a more intimate wildlife experience. A picnic lunch will be carried with you as you continue exploring the wilderness with your guide. Return to Sembije and enjoy a final meal at Bac before your departure.

DAY 4:

Departure


After breakfast, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight home, with unforgettable memories of your Slovenian wildlife adventure.
