Trip Itinerary – Historical Castles in Slovenia


DAY 1: Arrival and Predjama Castle


Upon arrival, depending on your time, embark on a scenic transfer to visit the iconic Predjama Castle. This remarkable fortress, built into the mouth of a cave, is one of Slovenia’s most impressive sights. Afterward, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Bac for a delicious welcome dinner and a restful overnight stay.

No riding on Day 1.


DAY 2: Kalec Castle & Village of Knezak


After breakfast, you’ll saddle up and ride through picturesque landscapes towards the Kalec Castle, a medieval gem. Rest in the shade of ancient trees before continuing to the village of Knezak for a relaxing lunch. Following the break, ride uphill for sweeping views of the surrounding countryside before heading back to Sembije to return the horses. Evening drinks and a delightful dinner await you in Bac.

DAY 3: Medieval Villages & Prem Castle


Today’s adventure takes you through a stunning natural rock wall, with stops in Kilovce village and Prem village, home to the beautifully preserved Prem Castle. Capture breathtaking photos of the castle and its surroundings. After a scenic ride through Smrje village, a restful lunch awaits at Bubec farm. Then, ride along the serene Reka River and pass an old, picturesque mill before heading back to Sembije.

DAY 4: Scenic Forest Paths & Italian Caverns


Today’s route leads you through enchanting macadam paths and along the breathtaking Crne Njive plateau, where you’ll stop for a refreshing drink at a local bar. Continue your journey through dense forests with panoramic views of the valley. After a hearty lunch in a secluded forest hut, explore the remains of Italian caverns before descending the Milonja hills. On a clear day, the stunning views of the Adriatic Sea will complete this unforgettable experience.

Riding time: approx. 6-7 hours.


DAY 5: Departure


After a delicious breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey or flight home, taking with you unforgettable memories of Slovenia’s rich history and natural beauty.
